About Our Founder KAREN DEGANNES – DaCosta Gwendoline’s Founder and Managing Director, Karen DeGannes has over 18 years of academic and professional experience in environmental management, policy, research and planning. She served as Lead Environmental & Energy Program (Measurement & Evaluation) Analyst in California. She has pioneered and authored major policy papers for the US Environmental Protection Agency and co-founded an environmental, capacity building non-profit to serve local communities, other non-governmental organizations and foundations.
Ms. DeGannes is a trained urban and community planner, environmental professional and sociologist who has both practiced in these disciplines and taught courses in natural resources & environment, development and quantitative & qualitative research methods. She is experienced in energy (electric and gas) and telecommunications utility regulation, policy analysis & development and environmental compliance. She has managed procurement and environmental review for large utility infrastructure and energy efficiency projects in California, USA.
